We also had a delicious lunch on the Riva where I had a sample platter of Croatian cheeses, fig jam, toasted almonds (small and so yummy), pickled baby onions, and lamb's lettuce (Feldsalat in German). After my strawberry Bellini, I had a glass of white wine with it.
The heat was beginning to get to us so we headed back to our apartment which is conveniently located in front of the Radisson Blu (think I may have already mentioned that). So, we decided to have our dinner on their rooftop restaurant sitting outside overlooking the sea to one side and the coast and the mountains in the distance.

Tuesday was our last day here so we went into town around midday. The heat and the crowds got to us pretty quickly so by 3 pm we had retreated back to our apartment. While we were in the centre, however, we did manage to see Brace Radic Trg, the Fruit Square, and the sculpture of the Croatian author Marko Maruli by Ivan Mestrovic.
Next, we walked along Marmontova Street, the pedestrians-only byway in search of a tech store to buy a memory stick. We also saw the Fish Market - which you smell before you see it, actually).
We also found another pretty square (not sure of the name) and, on the way back to Riva, we passed a famous bookstore that is hundreds of years old (according to the tour guide we overheard talking about it).
After a stop at one of the restaurants on Riva for a drink to cool off, we both said exactly at the same time that we were done and wanted to go back to the apartment. We also decided that, rather than come back into town for dinner, we would eat at the rooftop of the Radisson Blu again. So much easier! Once again, the service was friendly, the food was good and the views were lovely. Better yet, I managed to spend all my remaining kunas, except for what I need for the taxi in the morning. Well played, if I do say so myself!
