We walked into the town mostly along a promenade (there is a small section of road ourside our apartment first) but stopped at Il Porto (the restaurant where we had eaten the previous evening) for a late breakfast. Finally, a really affordable meal: bacon, eggs, toast, orange juice and tea for 45 HRK or about $9 and it was good!
After checking with the Tourist Information Office, we started to narrow down some of the things we would be interested in doing here. Hvar has lots of beaches and most of the main activities here involve beach stuff - diving, swimming, etc. We are not into that and are more interested in some of the excursions offered. We picked one that we will go on tomorrow (Wednesday).

We found a seafood restaurant on the other side of the harbour called Kod Kapatan. While there are a number of complaints on Trip Advisor about its price and cover (coperto) charge, we really enjoyed our late lunch. Linda had a huge plate of fresh mussels done in a garlic, butter and white wine sauce. My prawns were done in the same kind of sauce and, while messy to eat - why they serve them with their heads and shells still on is a mystery to me - they were scrumptious. One item on the menu looked odd to us. Can you spot it in the photo below? Again, our meal was not cheap but, as we are trying to have only one main meal a day it worked.
| I don't know much about clams but I think ones that are called "warty" don't sound too appetizing! |

| We spotted this sailboat in the harbour - it has a Vancouver registration. Small world! |
